The following are answers to questions I am often asked about my freelance writing services. If you have any questions, I'd love to hear from you. Just use the contact button and then we can start a chat about all your writing needs.
What kind of writing projects do you take on?
I don't want to toot my own horn, but when it comes to writing, I'm a word ninja. I've written everything from articles, to web copy, to business books and everything else in between. I've crafted kick-ass press releases for million dollar concerns, and charities with bleeding hearts. I've edited everything from business books to frantic foreign students university essays. No matter what the project, my work ethic is the same: the final product must not be good, it must be pure excellence that makes it stand out from the crowd.
What's the difference between hiring a professional writer and just doing it myself?
In a nutshell? Everything. When you hire a true professional writer or editor, one who is a master of their craft, you really are making a commitment to take your business to the next level. People, even the most dubious of ones, are always astounded when they see the results that quality writing can bring to there business. They're amazed when it seems like suddenly, their business is getting more traffic overnight. It's not magic, but it is word wizardry.
Hiring a professional writer and editor like myself, one who knows the ins-and-outs of the business and all the tricks of the trade means that when people read 'your' writing, they have more faith in your business or venture, which always translates into success: whether that's more sales, happy customers, better web traffic, or new customers to your store.
Do you write guest blog posts?
Absolutely! I love writing guest blog posts for people, whether it's ghostwritten or with my own byline. I'm always so happy to help people get great content up on their site, in their voice. So many new customers rely on things like blog posts when they go to a new website for affirmation, so having quality, up-to-date content is one of the best things you can do to help your business stay relevant and appear in web searches.
Do you write copy for people's websites?
You betcha. I love doing it too. Why? Because I love all the feedback I receive once clients new websites go 'live'.
They call me to tell me how good the results are since I gave their out-dated and misspelled website a spring cleaning. If I had a dollar for every time I heard, "Wow! I should have come to you a long time ago" I definitely would have been able to take an all expense trip paid to Vegas by now.
Is your ghostwriting service confidential?
When it comes to confidentiality you can be sure that I take it very seriously indeed. All ghostwritten projects, whether it's your book, or a simple blog post, are treated with the same level of discretion. Just to make sure you're comfortable, I have a contract for each of us to sign, making sure we have that confidentiality in writing.
How much do you charge?
My rates for project depend largely upon the level of time and work it requires. That said, I like to work with people of all budgets.
Before I start writing for you, I always conduct a thorough consultation. That way we can see if we are a good fit and if I can help you. I never agree to take on work that I cannot complete, without knowing that you would be 100 per cent satisfied with it. Once we both feel like we could work together, we agree a price and then the fun begins. Depending on the size of the commission, a small deposit may be required, with the rest of the money paid according to mutually agreed deadlines. The agreed price will not change unless the client changes the scope of work agreed upon at the start of the project. I offer advance payment discounts for monthly blog post packages and individual content projects. I can assure you that I am dedicated to helping you achieve your goals, and I always work with you to make sure you are satisfied with any content I provide.
What can I expect when working with you?
One of the most important things you can expect is to receive quality work, on time. When I agree to a deadline for your project, I hope that it relieves the pressure and that you forget about the project, secure in the knowledge that you will receive your content on the agreed-upon date. Since I am also a qualified professional copy editor with a print industry background, you can be confident that your projects will be in compliance with Canadian, Oxford (UK) or Chicago Manual of Style (US) guidelines and proofed for spelling and grammatical errors.
In terms of content development, my vast experience and background as a stand up comic means that I have the ability to create funny, quirky posts and articles. When ghostwriting, I work to develop your voice for by studying your existing content/marketing pieces and getting to know you properly so that any writing I do for you is so authentically you, even you will believe that you wrote it.
